Sweet Little Man

This picture was from the playground last weekend- he's saying, "Cheese!" He's been such a cuddly, cute boy recently. It's probably time for a little update (mostly for you, Pat!)

Despite the normal challenges of having a 2-year-old (the whining is hard to handle sometimes...), Jackson has been so much fun. I love that we can actually have conversations now, though I have learned that his answers to questions can only be trusted about 50% of the time.

What's also amazing is seeing him start to grasp the concepts of past and future. A couple days after we went to the aquarium, without any specific trigger that I could identify, he said, "I go see shish (fish)..and turtles...and ga-gay-gor (alligator) and sharks." So, he remembered going. We can now also tell him something we WILL be doing, and he get it...and then won't stop talking about it -ha!

I'm continously amazed by the words he knows - it's almost difficult now to find simple objects that he can't identify immediately. He's getting pretty good at colors - he gets the basic ones right about 75% of the time. Black and brown are both brown...and pink and purple are both pink. I still think that's pretty good!

I've been around a lot of new babies recently, and it is so hard to imagine the days when Jackson was that small, and wasn't my walking, talking little man.
