10 on Tuesday

This is a growing trend among blogs I visit....and I think it's a great idea. So, on Tuesdays, I will attempt to post 10 random things going on at the time.

1. Jackson still has the mysterious fear of water that started while Bryan and I were on vacation last month. He screams at bathtime, doesn't want to go swimming, and won't even put on his bathing suit. I hope this phase ends soon - I want to get some fun pool time in before the new baby comes.

2. Jackson has started singing a lot. It's so cute. His favorite songs include Old MacDonald (had a "sharm"), BINGO, and ABC's. He's started to make up little songs too.

3. We are in the process of finally "finishing" our playroom. Meaning we painted the walls, got a "real" entertainment center (thanks, Mom & Dad!) and we're going to clean out the closet, add more shelves and finally be organized! I'll post pics when we're done.

4. Potty training is...well....not happening at the moment. He definitely shows interest, has peed on the potty once, goes to a private place to poop (usually under the nearest table), and sometimes asks to have his diaper changed when he poops. But otherwise, he definitely doesn't want to go on the potty right now. We're not going to push it at this point. Especially since he's still getting used to his new room and new bed. One thing at at time.

5. When counting, Jackson always skips the number 5. I keep trying to get him to remember, but he'll leave it out again later. I guess he'll get it in time, and we'll keep working on it!

6. It was a treat for Jackson and I to sleep in the same bed when we were in Florida this past weekend. It's not something we ever do at home, for fear of bad habits starting, but it's as much fun for Mommy as it is Jackson. He's so cute when he lays down - he says, "Hi Mommy!" when he's getting all cozy. And his face is just so darn sweet when he's sound asleep.

7. I have a confession. I made my very first purchase for the new baby.....but it's a dress! So, I guess it's not necessarily for OUR baby, but could be for any baby girl of family or friends. It's the cutest floral sundress - I got it in Longboat Key last weekend.

8. The other night, Bryan and I were looking at pictures of my belly when I was pregnant with Jackson and we determined I'm definitely bigger this time. My 28 week belly right now looks like the 31 week belly from the pictures. I guess it's true when they say "your body already knows what to do." Let's just hope this baby isn't more than Jackson's birth weight - 8 lbs. 15 oz. I don't have anything to prove by entering the 9+ lb club, so that's not necessary :-)

9. Jackson is still very much TRAIN OBSESSED. He's starting to know all of the Thomas the Train characters. His favorites right now are Henry and Sir Handel (who he calls Mister Handel). He always wants to "make a track" - anytime, anywhere. He also sometimes asks me to say "CHOO CHOO!" after his "CHUGGA CHUGGA".

10. Luckily, it doesn't seem that Eduoard is actually a hurricane - just a tropical storm, so my previous post could have been more dramatic than necessary. I'm still going to stay holed up in my hotel room today....no need to get out in the rain and wind. Any work I could do in the office can be done here.
